“Let me ask you something…
When someone sees you, can they tell you’ve been with Jesus? Or do they just see you like any other person in the world: you dress the same, you talk the same, you act the same… and say, ‘Oh, just another Christian’? Is that what your life reflects?
Look inside yourself… what is there? Genuine love, patience, humility, integrity? Or pride, selfishness, indifference, envy, gossip, rumors? I’m not here to condemn you, but to open your eyes. For many live with a Christian name, but with a sleeping heart. Their words mention the Bible, but their actions are of the world. Their words are not Christian, but if they mention the Bible, what good is that if there is no fruit in their lives?
Today, many call themselves Christians and walk, dress, act, and speak like any other person in the world. No concrete difference is seen in them. Remember Peter: when he was arrested, he denied Jesus three times. His words and actions spoke louder than his devotion; his enemies noticed something different, even though he failed. Now look at yourself: Does your life speak more of Jesus or of the comforts and values of the world?
A sleeping heart doesn’t perceive the urgency of holiness. It doesn’t strive for obedience or to reflect Christ in every decision. A heart that only repeats verses or attends religious services without personal transformation is like a covered lamp: its light doesn’t shine, and darkness continues to reign within.
Look carefully at your heart: is it alive or asleep? Does it seek to obey God, serve others, and reflect His love, or does it only seek comfort, recognition, or evade spiritual responsibilities? A living heart is reflected in daily actions: in how you treat your family, your friends, your colleagues; in how you handle success and adversity; in how you respond to injustice and temptation.
Think about your language: do you speak to build up or to destroy? Do your words lift up or tear down? Is your mouth an instrument of blessing or of rumor and envy? Scripture says that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). If your words don’t reflect peace, humility, and love, then your heart is still polluted by the world.
It’s not enough to talk about Jesus or quote verses; your life must show His presence. The true difference between a Christian and someone of the world is not in words, but in fruit and internal transformation. Everything else is appearance. Obedience, forgiveness, patience, generosity, and the ability to love even those who hurt us are the true indicators that Jesus lives within you.
It’s time to look within yourself, evaluate what is truly shaping your heart, and allow Jesus to transform that which still belongs to the world. Only then will your life genuinely reflect the One who changed your inner self and can also change those around you.
And don’t be fooled: transformation doesn’t happen by chance. It’s not enough to read, repeat prayers, or listen to sermons. Like a gardener who must plow, sow, and water the soil, we must cultivate our hearts with Prayer, obedience, reflection, and sincere surrender. Every act of humility, every gesture of love, every decision to forgive is like a seed that bears fruit. Without effort, without discipline, without vigilance, the heart hardens, and the light of Christ remains dimmed.
So I ask you again: do you want to be just one name among many, or do you want to be a living reflection of Jesus, shining clearly in every aspect of your life? Time passes, opportunity fades, and the world waits. The only question that will remain when the final moment arrives is: Did my life truly reflect Christ, or did it merely imitate the world?
